The Mom Behind
Not So Sleepless Mama

I'm Mica.
Pronounced "mee-sha"
Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Wife & Mom of Two
I never would have thought that i'd become so passionate
about sleep! Experiencing firsthand what it feels like to function without sleep, after having my first daughter, made me realize how important this subject is and how little it is talked about. I also came to understand that for most mothers, it's about so much more than just sleeping. It's about regaining control of your daily life and feeling well rested and healthy again. It's also about feeling happy and truly enjoying motherhood, as opposed to just surviving.

Prior to sleep training my daughter, It would take about 45 minutes to an hour of rocking and feeding to get her to sleep at night. I could never predict how long she would stay asleep between her wakings. All of her naps, for 14 months, were fully contact naps as she would always wake up the moment she was put down.
Instead of my husband and I both suffering from lack of sleep, I tried to conquer nights on my own and allow him to be rested for work, as the sole provider at the time. But I became desperate for a solution to my baby's sleep and I'm forever grateful that gentle sleep training and working with a compassionate and knowledgeable coach was exactly that, for us.

So that is why I'm here today, as a Pediatric Sleep Consultant, to help mothers get the rest that they deserve, while ensuring that their children get the quality sleep that they need, without sacrificing secure attachment.
My Qualifications
I became a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant through The Rested Mama Academy in 2024.

This certification differs from others as it focuses on a holistic and gentle sleep training approach that is responsive, individualized and based on natural factors of sleep. Instead of just doubling down on the actual sleep training method, I've learned how to look at everything that contributes to your child's sleep as a whole, making it easier to achieve independent sleep, quickly, without using the traditional cry-it-out method.

I personally sleep trained my firstborn daughter at 14 months old, using this method, and I am currently utilizing all of the newborn techniques to set my second daughter up with healthy sleep habits from the start. So mama, I've been where you are and that makes it even easier for me to relate and empathize with all the families that I work with.
